Samsung Galaxy S30 rumors and leaks

Most people would argue that we are yet to relish the Galaxy S20’s experience. After all, it hasn’t been out long at the time of writing this. Although it has lived up to its hype, the S20 has been a damp squib for some users.

It, therefore, comes as no surprise that rumors of its aftercomer are already surfacing. Few rumors about Samsung’s next flagship have started circulating. Here is everything we have rounded up for you.

Camera

The Galaxy S30 is set to be Samsung’s true-full screen as rumors have it. It will come with more upgrades as well, especially in the camera system. SamMobile reports that the upcoming flagship will be equipped with a 150MP camera sensor that will be able to combine nine pixels into one.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra currently has the most sophisticated camera (108MP sensor) in the S20 lineup. There isn’t much more concrete detail about the camera except that it’ll have a 1’ footprint and use Nano-cell technology. It is also unclear whether Samsung will employ the sensor in the S30, s30 Plus or s30 Ultra.

All-screen phone

As mentioned before, the S30 is rumored to be a perfect full-screen phone. Early rumors also suggest that Samsung might try to pull off an all-rounded display. This means the camera hole will be designed to be invisible without compromising the camera’s functionality.

The South Korean device manufacturer is evaluating the feasibility of an in-screen camera. All things considered, this technology does seem intricate and might not be ready by next year.

Chipset

That aside, educated guesses have it that the S30 range will feature a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset with some markets getting Samsung’s Exynos chip. Samsung will certainly go with the latest chipset that’ll available by then.

Expected date & price

Going by the past trend, the S30 will be unveiled early next year, probably February. It will then hit the stores in March. Pricing is expected to be north of $999/£899 / AU$1,499 for the base model. The high-end models (S30 Plus & s30 Ultra) will cost more.

Note that all these are just but early rumors, and there is no guarantee that we’ll see them in the S30 range.

Samsung Galaxy S30 wish list

The iPhone 12 and Pixel 5 flagships by Apple and Google are expected to debut later this year. Samsung has a chance to stay ahead in this competition as the S30 wouldn’t be launching until a few more months.

Here are some of the things experts feel Samsung could improve on the S30 based on its predecessor’s letdowns:

  • A 120Hz screen that doesn’t heavily drain the battery, as is the case with the S20.
  • A relatively competitive price. Nothing can take away the fact that the S20 range costs over $250 more than its direct rival, iPhone 11 range.
  • A new design seeing as leaks suggests Apple will have major design changes.
  • A 120 Hz refresh rate at QHD+ resolution. At the moment, Samsung only gives you a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ on the S20 but not at the same time
